My Dear Readers,
It's the long-awaited July 4th celebratory weekend! Time to gather with family and friends to celebrate this patriotic holiday with a bar-b-q, picnic, and fireworks!
When lockdown kept us close to home, we initiated a family tradition of starting the evening with a backyard movie night, s'mores, and "camping out" in our backyard. While it was just our family that first year, it's now grown to a block party and this year, we're heading out to a campsite with 8 other families.
Each year, the shopping and chore lists are divided. Our family is in charge of the red, white, and blue cupcakes and the cleanup essentials. Both are a cinch for us! As the sole family to embrace a vegan lifestyle, we have a tried-and-true vegan cupcake recipe that always is a fan favorite (I'll add the recipe below). Of course, for the cleaning solution - we'll customize a patriotic blend of essential oils to go perfectly with Whole Naturals Castile Soap that will be perfect for hand and dishwashing.
Which essential oils are Patriotic?
While there isn't a definitive list of essential oils that are considered patriotic, certain scents can evoke a sense of patriotism and symbolize the essence of July 4th, Here's a short list of some of my favorite EOs that will be great for your Independence Day celebrations.
Lavender: Lavender essential oil is known for its calming and soothing properties. It can represent tranquility and honor, making it a suitable choice to honor fallen heroes.
Lemongrass: With a fresh, citrusy scent it uplifts the spirit and energizes the atmosphere. It can symbolize vitality and the joy of life, reflecting the celebration of freedom.
Peppermint: There's something refreshing and invigorating about this aroma. It can evoke a sense of alertness and strength, which aligns with resilience and determination.
Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus essential oil has a calm and refreshing scent that promotes a sense of clarity and openness. It can symbolize renewal and growth, reflecting the spirit of moving forward while honoring the past.
Frankincense: With a woody fragrance, it's a great way to connect the fresh forest environment with the comfort of indoors.
Cedarwood: Another type of warm and grounding scent reminiscent of the outdoors, it can symbolize strength, resilience, and the enduring spirit of patriotism.
Remember, the choice of essential oils is subjective. The best part of incorporating EOs into your Castile Soap is the ability to customize your recipe based on your preferences and the atmosphere you want to create. Individually used or blended together, you can create unique and patriotic scents that enhance the ambiance of your Independence Day Celebrations!
What are your favorite EO combinations? And...let me know if you decide to try our cupcake recipe!
Happy 4th!
